With the success of our last dota 2 team in ESWC and some staggering online performance, before they moved on to Fnatic, we have been looking for a new team for quite some time. Now we finally have the plans ready and feel that we've got something to present to the public. GamersLeague will be hosting not just 1, but 2 dota teams in the near future!
As we have not been able to find a team with the same goals and the same angle to esports as GamersLeague desires, we ended up with a plan to make 2 different teams with 2 great team captains. One team will be made out of Norwegian players only, while the other one will have an international lineup.
The teams will be working together as they are part of the same organization but they will also compete with each other for sponsorship money and the chance to attend huge live events going on all over the world. They will start off by competing in online tournaments to show what they've got, and if they do well, they will turn up on live events.
GamersLeague will follow both teams closely and keep all of our followers updated as often as we can on our website,
facebook and twitter. Our goal is to keep everyone updated with their progress, when they take part in tournaments and streams when they are live. So stay tuned!
The 2 team captains will be:
Norwegian team: Eivind
"Hjort" Kolerud Selnes known from joinDota and other communities in the Dota 2 scene and a crazy ammount of ingame time.
International team: Lachezar "Cilium" Kochev, a well known player in the competitive side of the community, played for Bulgaria's best team esG in the past
We got some statements from both of the captains to see what their thoughts and ideas for this is.
Eivind "Hjort" Kolerud Selnes: After many years of competetive dota, you would probably not be able no mention any top-norwegian DotA teams. But the time has come, to show the world that norway is here, and we CAN play dota. With an awesome organisation like GamersLeague, I have faith that this is what we needed to take the step from an amateur team that plays for fun, to really take it seriously and step up our game. I will thank GamersLeague for having faith in us and giving us this opportunity. We will fight like real vikings and not dissappoint you!
Lachezar "Cilium" Kochev: I want to thank Gamers League for the awesome opportunity that I've been given! I've always wanted to make a team consisting of 5 players with the same goals and the strive to be the very best. I'm looking forward to what the future holds for me and the organization and I hope you will follow our ride!
