"Some say getting top 8 is not all that, we say it's a HUGE Step forward! Not to mention the road to top 8 was as hard as it could get. Snute started out in what seemed to be the hardest of the BYOC groups, moving on to "the group of death" with players like TaeJa, Stephano and TheSTC. Not only did he perform well there he actually took 2nd!. Moving on to play the quarterfinals where he eventually lost to the winner of the entire tournament is not something to be ashamed of."
- Zarotan

Snute advancing the first day after a long grind through the open bracket, said that he hoped to get an easy group. Unfortunately he got in the group that he thought was the hardest for him. But Snute brought his A-game and played some great games!

NRK is also interested in Snute, they are making a documentary around him. It will air in January 2013.
Its in norwegian and it will be announced here on gamersleague.no.

I had the chance to ask Snute some questions after he got home from the event. Here is what he had to say:

How you feel about Dreamhack going through BYOC and going up to the quarterfinals?

Very good. The BYOC was scary since I was placed in the toughest part of the bracket together with XLorD, JookTo, TitaN, Naama and Naugrim.
I didn't want to face TitaN, but he was fortunately eliminated. I also did not know what to expect from JookTo, and he was fortunately eliminated from the bracket by Naugrim.
Playing against Naama was scary, but I managed to pull it together. Despite getting a tough group, it turned out well.

Placing 2nd in my group was also a bit unexpected. It was a really tough one. But I knew that my opponents were close to me in skill, I knew I could make it.
On the 3rd day against HerO I tried to get as much sleep as possible and didn't have much time to prepare.
I was very exhausted from the two days before and didn't have the strength to keep going in any way after my first loss against HerO.
I think everyone could see that it was not a peak performance, but I did try my best.

What games would you recommend the fans that did not watch you this weekend?

The ZvTs against TheStC and TaeJa were good. I would also recommend watching the games against Stephano.

With this performance that might have been the best we have ever seen from you, how do you feel about IPL5 next weekend?

Good. It depends on my shape though. I think the recent fever combined with the travelling has strained my body some.
I experienced something similar to a mild migraine for the first time in my life a few days after Dreamhack, a far from pleasant experience.
I'm going to take care and relax as much as possible before IPL5. I fortunately have a lot of time to rest since I'm seeded far, though. I'm very happy for that.

Snute is now traveling to Las Vegas, for the IPL5 Tournament. We are gonna follow him closely this weekend! Excited for how he is going to do. They have announced brackets here and liquipedia link here.

Gamersleagues New Dota2 Squad!

Gamersleague ventured into Dota 2 a long time ago. But we haven't had a stable team in our organisation for a long time. A lot of good results such as two times top 4 finishing in the GosuLeague. We wish to thank all our former players of their performance.
After a lot of trial and error we have yet to find a team to be stable and long lasting in the gamersleague name and spirit. We hope this newly acquired squad will be what we are looking for!

Here is the new Dota 2 Squad of Gamersleague.

(Germany) Mirsad "DeMeNt" Djokovic - Ingame leader, Semi-Support / Jungler
(Romania) Pittner "bOne7" Armand - Solo mid
(Switzerland) Amir "SlhZ" Kassem - "Hardlane" / Sololane (Legendary windrunner)
(Serbia) Nenad "Grizine" Lukic - The farmer, plays “hardcarry” heroes
(Sweden) Thomas "STompa" Strand - Main Support
(Egypt) Ahmed "LuminouS" Khaled (Manager)

Dement and Grizine joining up with SlhZ, Stompa and bOne7 and then coming in talks with Gamersleague lead to this newly found team! After no time the guys are ready to take on the big challenge that the world of Dota2 have to offer!

[GL]LuminouS will be the teams manager!

STompa talking about goals:
Okay, even though we don't have any DIRECT goals at the moment, we will participate in the majority of the open tournaments and perform our best. One goal would probably to qualify or get invited to The Defense. Another goal is to build a long lasting stable team with a good atmosphere, willing to improve!

I also asked him about what tournaments we can expect to see them play in:
The International Shootmania team just grabbed 3rd place at the Electronic Sports World Cup which is
an international professional gaming championship.

Great teams that have been attending big tournaments sometimes bring with them great news and this
is one of those times. Our very own Shootmania team consisting of Captain Leavzou, Freaky and Vega
just fought their way into third place in one of the most prestigious Shootmania championships today.

There have been battles between the most elite teams this game has to offer. Team Captain Leavzou is
happy with the result. The team has been doing splendidly; especially considering that this was their first
LAN in a Shootmania competition together –staying at the top of their game all the time, crushing and
stomping the competition along the way. A third place well deserved indeed.

GLSnute has been kicking ass and taking names!

In the past few weeks, GLSnute has been owning it up in various online tournaments. He's ready to attend a series of big events in the future! Among these events are tournaments such as Acer SC2 Challenge, Thor Open and IPL5.

We figured it was due time for a serious update on Jens Waller "GLSnute" Aasgaard's series of wins lately.
The ones that have been following him lately have seen him take huge steps after returning from Korea and a lot of new followers have started taking notice of our "player to look out for in 2012" by TeamLiquid. Following is a recap of his past results and finishing it off is a short interview with GLSnute.

GameX

An expo in sweden that focus on games and videogame culture. It was held at Kistamässan, a convention center a bit north of Stockholm. They had almost 28k visitors last year. This year, they also hosted one of the offline qualifiers for the Thor Open tournament. As GLSnute now resides in Stockholm, he took the trip and played the qualifier where he ended up taking down Quantic.MaddeLisk 3 - 0 in the finals. With that, he qualified to the Thor Open!

Thor Open

The THOR Open 2012 is an event organised by CDON and Fragbite featuring seven games, one of them being a StarCraft II eight-player tournament. The eight spots in the tournament will be awarded through eight open qualifiers (six being played online, and two offline during GameX and DreamHack Winter 2012, respectively).

Acer SC2 Challenge

The Acer StarCraft Challenge is an eight-player offline tournament organised by TaKe and boasting a 5 750 € prize pool (some of which will be handed out as hardware), which will be held on November 16th in the Saturn Store of the Alexanderplatz. The eight spots in the tournament are granted via seven open qualifiers: where six are played online, each with a 200 € prize for the qualifying player, and one offline qualifier in Berlin, with two qualifying spots.

GLSnute qualified for this tournament in the 5th qualifier where he took down names such as Beastyqt, KrasS and KiLLeR. It's important to note that he also did this without dropping a single map!

GO4SC2
GLSnute also won his first ever Go4SC2 Sunday on the 4th of November. This brought home a nice sum of money and was a good confidence boost before the Acer Challenge. GLSnute has been winning and playing really well in a lot of online tournaments lately and he has been taking down players such as GoOdy, Krr, dKiLLeR, Verdi, atXMGmonchi, TSLRevival and lots more. Not to mention the fact that he in the past month has won 10 Playhem events!

IPL5
GLSnute will also be attending IPL5 in Las Vegas soon and a lot more players are now ready for the event. With the following links you can find all the info you need for the event.

We had a short chat with GLSnute to see what he thinks of the upcoming hard months before Christmas and how he feels about this past month that has been nothing short of amazing.

Hello Jens. Kudos with a month of amazing scores. What would you say are the main reasons for your domination after coming back from Korea? You have been taking down big names left and right and there seems to be no stopping you when you're on a roll.
Snute: I've learned a lot of new things, fixed a few of the issues I had in my play earlier, but most of all I've been playing a lot of tournaments, more than usual. I don't want to let opportunities pass, so I've been extra observant of what's going on in the scene and tried my best to attend in qualifiers.

We are getting closer to the end of 2012, but there are still a lot of big things happening. Acer SC Challenge, IPL, DH winter and more. What are your predictions and goals for the remainder of the year?
I don't have any predictions my goal is as always, to improve and play my best in the tournaments I can play in. I want to catch up to the top of the top. My goals for the remainder of the year is to shape up and increase consistency, winrate, and do my best to keep an even winrate in all matchups.

Your fan base is growing day by day and you seem to be the talk of just about every caster there is. How can the fans follow you and what's your secret? The fans you have truly seem to love watching you play.
Haha I'm not sure about the talk of just about every caster, but yeah. Fans can follow me on facebook or twitter. My secret is nothing else than just lots of practice, trying to improve on the things I can't do that well and trying out new approaches from time to time.
